Die Kliphuisie offers rustic, no-fuss self catering cottages situated on the banks of the Sonderend River near Bonnievale, Overberg, Route 62

Die Kliphuisie offers 2 lovley self catering cottages surrounded by the majestic foothills of the Sonderend Mountains near Bonnievale in the Western Cape.  Guests can enjoy hiking trails that promise breath-taking views and a laid back atmosphere with candles and a cosy fireplace. Set on a farm, you can indulge in outdoor activities such as bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, star gazing, swimming, fishing and loads more! 

Die Kliphuisie is pet friendly and perfect for nature lovers.  If you are tired of city noises, this is the place for you!

It is a safe environment,  22km to the nearest town, Bonnievale & 38km to the historic town, Swellendam. Your sedan vehicle will get you here, BUT please note that there is a 16km gravel roads and we have no control over the conditions.

Kliphuisie Cottage

The cottage has one double bedroom. In the open plan living area there is a couch that opens into another double sofa-bed. You are also welcome to pitch a tent. There is a kayak and paddles that guests are welcome to use. Although there is no electricity or technical equipment, we offer you Fish- and Martial Eagles, various owls, lesser game birds, many smaller birds, small game, frog- and cricket songs, outdoor hiking trails and wonderful night skies.

Die Boskliphuis

Sleeps 8 people, solar lighting, pizza oven and inside fireplace. Situated on the bank of the Sonderend river, close to Die Kliphuisie.

Facilities in cottages include

• Linen and towels provided
• Equipped kitchenettes
• Indoor bathroom with shower
• Cooking pots, pan, kettle, black 'potjie'
• Dish-washing liquid, dishcloths, goldilocks, bin liners 
• 2 plate gas burners
• Braai drum outside, braai area inside
• Candles and matches
• "Donkie" water heater (wood provided)
• Wood available @ R30 per bag (Please order in advance)

• Peacefull sleep / Doom 
• Fire lighters
• Wood (also available to buy @ R30/bag)
• Bed linen/ sleeping bags/ pillows/ towels for the additional guests (not using double bedroom)

RATES:

Die Kliphuisie:  R540 per night for 2 people.  R100 per extra person per night.

Die Boskliphuis (slightly larger cottage): R600 per night for 2 people. R100 per extra person per night. 

Additional R200 if the wooden dome house is taken as well.
